Eyegasm 2008 submission guidelines and general information

FEES:  This exhibition is $20 per artist, for up to 32 square feet of wall display.  Unlimited print bins, free with wall space. There is a %10 commission on sales. If, for some reason, your work is not shown, your entry fee will be refunded.  Personal checks are acceptable.

WHAT TO ENTER:  Originals, as well as limited edition prints are allowed. (only one print of each image for the wall, please)  Computer generated art will be considered, but should show more the creativity of the artist than the programmer.  All mediums are welcome, 2D or 3D. Please check first before bringing anything that sheds, or requires special handling.   All work must be for sale.  You may also hang a sign advertising yourself (no larger than 8 x 10 please) and put out business cards.

HOW TO PRESENT IT:  Works on paper and prints should be matted and must have a firm backing.  A wire or other hanging device should be on the back.  (otherwise we’ll use a clip, which will dent the mat.   Shrink wrapping or acetate bags are recommended. Paintings on firm backings such as canvas or masonite must have a wire or other hanging device on the back. Frames are not required. You may bring pedestals for your sculpture,  provided they can be easily moved by one person.  We will not have cases to put small items in, so bring them if you need them.

CONTENT:  This is a pansexual, spiritual/erotic show, so just about anything goes.  But, as much as we would like for this to truly be a "no limits" show, we do have to put some stops in, so the villagers don't show up with torches and pitchforks.

Children:  No images of children will be allowed.  Childlike mystical beings will be considered on an individual basis.         

Violence and Horror: Violent images are allowed,  just keep in mind that we want to seduce people, not disgust them.  We reserve the right to refuse artwork that is too disturbing.  It takes a lot to disturb our art director,  so this will probably not be a problem.

Other issues may arise,  any exclusions are at the discretion and paranoia of the art director.

Notice to photographers!   Be prepared to show proof of age for all your models, even if they are clothed!  New regulations require this!  This applies to any work with photography as part of the process. Also, although animals may be included in the image, they may not be shown actually having intercourse with humans.  (applies only to photography)

HOW TO ENTER:  Use the control sheet forms provided. (print as many as you need)  Make a copy for yourself, and a copy for us. A title/price tag must be attached to each piece.  Wall art should have the tag visible from the front.  Artwork may be delivered by hand to our location on October 17th, from 11am till 3 pm.  We will also be accepting work ahead of time at Unseen Gallery studios, contact us at kinky@kinkyspot.com, or call 232-2161 for arrangements.  Mail in instructions are below.

ALL UNSOLD WORK MUST BE PICKED UP BY 6 PM, October 19th, at the show location, unless other arrangements have been made before the show. (I.e. pickup at Unseen Gallery)  Otherwise, we will consider it a generous donation.

SHIPPING YOUR WORK TO THE SHOW:  If you would prefer to ship your work, e-mail to let us know to watch for it.  Pack it, with control sheets and a check for return shipping, in re-usable containers.  Ship to:

Work must arrive by October 14th to be included in the show.

SECURITY: The show will be monitored by Eyegasm staff at all times.  Backpacks, large satchels and cameras must be left at the door.    We will take all possible care to protect your work. (since we want you to enter again, next time!)  But we cannot make any promises, and all entries are at the artist's own risk.
